Anatomy Sketches
Graphite Pencil on 8½ x 11-inch white drawing paper. ♦ 1977 – 1983
All of the art teachers that K. L. Todd ever had strongly encouraged sketching. One teacher said, “Your hand can’t draw it until your head understands what it looks like.” This inspired her to do anatomy sketches to better understand the human form. Some sketches were from DaVinci drawings, some from unwitting classmates in non-art classes, and some were from that ever-willing subject in the mirror. Most of the study sketches were not kept, but these are some of the ones that the artist liked an saved.
